Steel Warriors is an anti knife crime charity that melt down knives taken off the streets and recycles the steel into outdoor street gyms. We use street workout to transform the lives of young people affected by crime, violence and social exclusion, giving them the skills and confidence they need to create positive futures.
The organsiation are seeking volunteers to support an evaluation of how their youth programmes influence the lives of secondary school students. The research will assess the social, educational, and wellbeing impacts of regular participation in calisthenics training, helping the charity to evidence its outcomes and improve future delivery.
Volunteers will:
- Review and analyse existing sociodemographic and impact data collected by Steel Warriors.
- Co-design participatory workshops with young people to develop new evaluation questions OR Conduct and analyse interviews or focus groups with teenage participants to understand how the programme affects confidence, wellbeing, and life choices.
- Summarise findings in a short report or presentation to share with staff and stakeholders.
