We are currently looking a medical student to work alongside Sports Therapy and Sports Science Students to attend and support the Weekly drop in Clinic, which is located at Star Academy Solutions off Amhurst Road, Hackney E8 as well as coming in on cycling race days to support the riders in the role of a Soigneur. There will also be opportunities for Students to travel with riders in the UK and throughout Europe.
The aim is to be a part of the MDT that facilitates ARDP Hackney, an affiliate of Cycling Club Hackney. Ordinarily these young cyclists wouldn't have access to Sports Science and Medicine expertise, resources or facilities. ARDP stand for Aspiring Rider Development Project - with a specific focus on promoting cycling among ethnic minorities, women and refugees.
There are 3 young men from Eritrea who are cycling for ARDP as well as a 1 young female, 2 Hackney-born boys from the African-Caribbean community.
To help manage and facilitate the Sports Injuries drop-in clinics alongside other students. To help facilitate appropriate health screening for the young cyclists. To act as 1st aid support on racing days To communicate with the other students,
