Description

We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who are comfortable working with children for our latest programme "Cook and Chill" (CaC) based in East London.

CaC is a series of workshops that run once a week, for secondary school students. The aim of is to promote nutrition and a healthy lifestyle with the added bonus of free counselling sessions for the students there. Students will work together and learn from a nutritionist/ chef on how to make simple and healthy meals. We'll also have a councillor come in to help with the young adults emotional needs, and discuss any issues on their minds. 

CaC will take place every Tuesday, from 5:00pm - 6:30pm, starting on Tuesday 20th September - Tuesday 25th October 2022. The session will be led by a Wellbeing Practitioner as well as a chef/ nutritionist and we are recruiting volunteers to support the smooth running of the sessions. 
 

All volunteers need to be DBS checked.

Duties

As a volunteer, you will help with:

  • Collecting food/ refreshments prior to the session
  • Time-keeping 
  • Set-up and set-down
  • Administrational duties, e.g. distributing the notebooks, name labels 
  • Ensuring the sessions are safe and taking note of any safeguarding issues  

We're looking for individuals who have great communication/ teamworks skills and are comfortable working with young people.
