Dockland Settlements
The Dockland Settlements aims to provide support to local communities who live close to our centres. Our focus is on working in Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets to provide sporting, social, recreational and educational activities. We provide low cost playcare to help parents go back to work or remain in work. Since 1894 we have helped more than half a million people.
Description

At Dockland Settlements, we support communities through a range of opportunities, from providing food banks and hot meals to ballroom dancing clubs. Our Stratford centre is rich with opportunities to connect with the local community. There are many ways you can get involved!

Volunteers can help at our foodbank for one-off or regular shifts, helping feed the local community. Our foodbank currently supports around 1,200 people each week, and our Warm Haven community cafe runs alongside our foodbank, providing hot food, chargers, showers and companionship.

Volunteers can also help at our kids clubs as Playworkers. We offer breakfast and after-school clubs for children aged 4-11, where volunteers can join us regularly or as a one-off, supporting our community staff in delivering this incredibly fun and fulfilling service.

We are also in need of a volunteer community driver, to collect donations from donors across London. We often get offers of food, clothing and other donations from organisations around London but do not always have the time or resources to collect them. Help us collect donations so we can continue to support the community.

However you choose to volunteer, you will be making a huge difference by giving back to the East London community. We are extremely grateful for any time or support you can offer.
