Gambling impacts over a million people in the Greater London area. GamCare being the leading national provider of free information, advice, and support for anyone affected by problem gambling provides this quickly when someone accesses our services. We also operate the National Helpline, providing structured support for anyone in Greater London who is harmed by gambling.
We are looking for ambassadors to help raise awareness and make a difference within local communities. You are in the expert in your community and your expertise and motivation is what is needed to bring awareness to your community.
In this flexible role as a Community Ambassador, alongside your community connections you will be able to highlight your people skills by sharing information concerning gambling harms and support available. The role could include the set-up of focus groups, events, workshops, help us in disseminating surveys and encouraging others to do the same.
Activities will include:
Promoting GamCare and our services.
Facilitating conversations around gambling harms within their communities to raise awareness, reduce stigma and make information and support more accessible.
You will be provided with merchandise to help you facilitate your role.

- Sharing key messages around gambling harms and support in diverse ways including social media.
- Support families, friends, and the wider community to remain informed and up to date on the latest developments and opportunities
- Engage with communities across local boroughs which include people with disabilities, older people, younger people; Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities and the LBGTQIA+ communities, to help people make informed decisions around gambling and gambling harms.
- Supporting community engagement activities to talk with people about gambling and gambling harms.
- Feedback any local issues or concerns relating to gambling and gambling harms.
