Age UK Camden aims to promote the well-being of all older people in the London borough of Camden and to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. We provide a wide range of services and projects that aim to support people in later life, including those that are the most vulnerable and isolated.
Description
The Charity Boutique is a busy, friendly place in Leather Lane. It raises vital funds for the organisation, helping us to continue our work providing life-enhancing services for older people in Camden. It is a place where people find pre-loved furniture, vintage clothes, designer labels and unusual books and accessories.
We are looking for volunteers who have experience in retail, and interest in fashion or want to learn and develop retail and customer service skills. We also have the option for a volunteer to help out with our Instagram page and uploading items to eBay. If you'd prefer to do this, please let us know when you email.
The shop is located at 53 Leather Lane, EC1N 8TJ and is open Monday – Friday 10 -3pm
Duties
- Working on the till processing sales
- Customer service
- Sorting and preparing donations
- Keeping shop area stocked and clean
- Any other tasks identified by the shop manager (s)
Training
Online Training on Fire Awareness & Moving and Handling
Orientation and induction provided by Shop managers
Ongoing support provided by Shop managers

Time commitment
• One or more regular session in the week, 2 -3 hours.
• Days and hours agreed between the volunteer and shop manager.
