Description

Make a difference to the lives of isolated older people at fitness, wellbeing and social sessions. Join the Community Programmes team as a vital volunteer for our older people's sessions and help bring joy and friendship to the lives of some of the most isolated members of our community. The sessions are as follows:

Saturday Feel Good Club – 11am-2pm @ Colombo Centre, 34-68 Colombo Street, London, SE1 8DP Wellbeing sessions for older people including gym, yoga and massage and healthy eating. Volunteers will welcome participants, complete registers and provide refreshments as well as build friendships.

Coffee mornings – Thursday 11am-1pm @ Colombo Centre, 34-68 Colombo Street, London, SE1 8DP Support local older people by making teas and coffees and having a friendly chat!

Duties

• Help set up and ensure the space is safe and welcoming

• Welcome older people and complete the register

• Engage older people in activities, workshops and wellbeing sessions

• Make refreshments including tea and coffee and healthy snacks

• Chat and listen to older people

• Help tidy up and debrief after the session

• Plan for future sessions

• Be vigilant to any safeguarding or health and safety concerns and flag them up with the appropriate staff member as soon as possible.

Time commitment

Sessions will be held on Saturdays 11am-2pm and Thursdays 11am-1pm
