To act as a befriender to vulnerable One Support customers. To undertake regular visits or outings and to help address social isolation, loss of confidence and to build motivation. Befrienders will meet with the customer on a regular basis either for a chat in their home or to share a social activity, such as walking, attending museums, art galleries, cinema, etc.
The activities will be agreed with the customer, Support Officer and volunteer beforehand. There will be opportunities for volunteers to get involved with social inclusion projects and enjoy 1:1 with our customers in all our services. Even suggest and lead on some of their own, if this is what you would like to do.
