Description

Hackney Playbus is a dedicated charity that brings play opportunities and support to families in need, using a converted double decker Playbus that travels across East London. We provide a variety of services for families with children under five, fostering community engagement and development.

We are seeking a passionate volunteer to explore and organise our extensive 50-year archive. This collection not only documents the history of Hackney Playbus but also reflects the vibrant history of Hackney, its residents, and the broader community. The archive includes photographs, reports, news articles, stories, and more. This is a unique chance to analyse, organise, and unlock the potential of this valuable historical resource. We hope the volunteer can provide recommendations on the best ways to preserve, organise, and use the archive as a source of information.

Duties
  • Examine and categorise the 50-year archive, identifying key themes and historical insights.
  • Provide strategic advice on how to best utilise the archive for educational and outreach purposes.
  • Research and propose possible engaging content such as blogs, articles, exhibitions and social media posts to highlight key findings.
