We’ve been helping disabled and non-disabled people in Tower Hamlets work together to share information, provide support and make change happen for over twenty years. We have an independent advocacy service that can help you have your voice heard, uphold your rights and access services.
Description

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

1. At least 6 months related study or work. Knowledge of the legal system in England and Wales. 

2. IT literate and well versed with Microsoft Office and Windows

3. Experience of database inputting (ideally with CRM systems like Salesforce). 

4. Experience in the voluntary sector and office environment. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

5. Excellent interpersonal skills. 

6. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people and to liaise with other organisations. 

7. Ability to summarise enquiries into plain English and identifying key issues. 

8. Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. 

10. Ability to work on own initiative. 

11. Ability to work in a busy environment with competing demands. 

12. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet and email. 

13. Ability to maintain existing computer-based and manual systems.

Duties

We’re looking for two dedicated volunteers to support our Advocacy Team. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others

Commitment: 1 day per week (Wednesday or Friday)

Location: On-site or remote.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with data entry in our client case management system
  • Draft or summarise case notes and end-of-case reports (full training provided)
  • Help maintain accurate records and contact logs in line with GDPR and safeguarding standards
  • Carry out light research, such as signposting to local services
  • Draft outreach emails and letters of support
