Community Links is an innovative Charity in East London tackling health and social inequality. We are based in Newham and have over 40 years’ experience helping people of all ages reach their full potential. We take our local knowledge of what works to influence national decision making.

This opportunity is open to anyone who has an interest in helping others, and is ideal for those considering a career that involves dealing with the public, or with giving information or advice.  We're looking for students or recent graduates who can commit to more than one day a week of volunteering for at least three months.

This role allows you to volunteer from home and from our office, it attracts a travel allowance for journeys up to Transport for London zone 6, and a lunch allowance.

The aim is to advise or refer onwards members of the public who present with a variety of legal problems, under the supervision of a solicitor or senior adviser.

Time commitment

We require a regular commitment - ideally more than one day a week for at least four months. Please contact our Paralegal to discuss this further.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
We regularly update our a risk assessment, which includes:
sanitised work stations and interview spaces,
anti-viral, hand sanitisation gel, available at reception and throughout the building,
the ability to volunteer from home,
the recommendation to wear masks, and
respect for personal space
