Centre 404 is a local community charity in North London that offers friendly, reliable and person-centred support to people with learning disabilities, autism and their families. It was founded in 1951 by carers of children with learning disabilities and continues to work towards building a community and a society where people with learning disabilities are valued and involved members of our community.
Adult groups at Centre 404 target confidence building, improving social interaction, increasing independence, and building relationships.
- Engage in friendly conversation and encourage participation
- Help with set up and break down of group
- Support senior working running the group
- Help monitor the health and safety of the group
- Advocate and facilitate choice among attendees where able
- Willingness to learn the best way to communicate to the individuals within the group
