Description
At Headway West London, we have a range of activities and groups that the volunteer would be involved in facilitating at. These are:
(1) monthly support group
(2) social events e.g., visits to Kew gardens
(3) REACTIVATE
(4) art workshop
There is also a remote opportunity helping with social media engagement. Volunteers can choose to attend any one or all volunteering opportunities.
Duties
Exact duties vary for each group. Generally, volunteers should be good listeners who are active in conversing with our members. They should have a flexible attitude and be proactive in each group. Volunteers will be expected to facilitate and interact with members in a professional manner.
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Volunteers will be interacting with our members (aged 18+) and will always be with at least one of our linkworkers.
Training
Volunteers will be provided information and support alongside development opportunities. No formal training is provided but volunteers can be advised of educational sites.
We do ask that you commit fully, for a minimum of 4-6 sessions, to whichever you choose. For some groups, there is only one session per month but for others (i.e., REACTIVATE), it may run in a block of sessions spaced out over 6 weeks.
