Age UK Westminster
Age UK Westminster exists to promote the well-being of older people in the City of Westminster and help make life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience within our local community.
Description

Support people living in the borough of Westminster to become more active and help them rebuild confidence going outside!

Age UK Westminster is offering 1:1 Walking sessions for individuals who might need a bit of help regaining their confidence in venturing outside their homes.

The initiative also helps to reduce participants' feelings of isolation, and loneliness and improves their physical and emotional well-being.

Duties

As a 1:1 Walking Volunteer, you will accompany clients on regular 1:1 weekly walks in the proximity of their residence, be a company and a friend to chat to, and give the clients something to look forward to.

You don't need to be an exercise enthusiast; you just need patience and excellent people skills.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
You will be working alongside the Fit4Life Coordinator.

Mandatory Training and Development:

General Induction.
Training modules on our online personal and professional development training portal.

Time commitment

We ask for a commitment of 1-2 hours per week (or whatever you can give)
The time and day you volunteer is flexible but the Fit4Life Coordinator who will be responsible for your supervision works part-time and so you might be asked to volunteer on her office days.
We hope you can volunteer for a longer period as this will be better for your experience and the rapport we build.
