Road to the Final

Netball 1st Team

UCL Netball began their National Trophy journey by overcoming a tricky test away to Cardiff, which granted them a stand-out quarter final at home to super league Seven Stars partner Worcester. In what has proved to be the tie of the competition, UCL were the victors winning 45-42. The team were once again impressive away from home in the semi-final, brushing aside Oxford by 53-43. Nottingham Trent now awaits in the final with it all to play for!

LUSL Cup Winners... will the National Trophy be added to their collection?
Men's Volleyball

UCL Men’s Volleyball have been dominant on their road to the National Trophy Final. Kickstarting their campaign with a 3-1 victory against noisy neighbours King’s, they went on the road to Bristol twice, beating their second team 3-0 and their first team 3-1. With all eyes on their home tie against Bath, UCL kept their cool to breeze into the Final by wining 3-0. Their opponents in the Final, Aberdeen, are coming off the back of a 3-0 victory against Loughborough, however, they have dropped 2 more sets than UCL in their campaign. An enthralling tie awaits in Nottingham!

Men's 1 Volleyball have been going from strength to strength this year. Can they overcome one more hurdle?
Women's Volleyball

UCL Women’s Volleyball overcame a tricky semi-final vs Anglia Ruskin on Friday 11 March to become the last of 4 teams to book themselves a National Trophy Final spot. That win made it a clean sweep for National Trophy Final representation for UCL Volleyball Club! We will go into the match full of confidence having won every one of their BUCS fixtures this year and finishing 3rd in the National Volleyball England Student Cup.

An unbeaten season. A 3rd place finish in the Volleyball England Student Cup. A National Trophy gold medal would top off a perfect season!
Women's Table Tennis

UCL Women’s Table Tennis are another one of our teams holding a 100% record in BUCS competitions and have been ‘ones to watch’ in this year’s National Trophy. Having stormed into the last 16 with a 5-0 win over Queen Mary, they met one of the competition’s top ranked sides, Southampton, where onlookers’ eyebrows may have been raised with a 3-2 victory to UCL. Subsequent emphatic victories followed against Southampton 2nd team and Nottingham 3rd team. Nottingham 2nd team will be the final step of the journey of our Women’s quest for glory on 23 March!
