TeamUCL Social Leagues: Football
TeamUCL Leagues offer a fantastic way to keep active in a relaxed and sociable environment, with a friendly but competitive atmosphere. Our TeamUCL Football Leagues are a fantastic way to add a little competition to your weekly schedule. This is your opportunity to test yourself on the pitch and make some friends along the way!
We will have three league formats that will run in Term 1. Below, you can find out more information about both our 5-a-side, 8-a-side and our 11-a-side leagues and how you can get involved.
How to Register a Team?
To register a team please follow the link below and select either one of the Football options from the drop down menu. This should then confirm the team price of £150 or £100, you will then be able t0 add the product to your basket and proceed to "checkout".
If you are wanting this money to be taken directly from your club or societies account please select the 'Club and Society Entry - Pay by Invoice' on the first drop-down question, and we will make an internal transfer.

League Rules
- 5-a-side Football (MUGA Pitches)
Player Conduct
- Our leagues are a social and welcoming space and we expect all of our players to adhere to our rules to ensure the league is kept safe and inclusive for all.
- We will not tolerate abuse of our officials, staff or other participants. This includes but is not limited to swearing, aggressive body language and threatening lanaguage.
- The officials call is final and any misconduct on decision can result in penalties and/or removal from the league. We withhold the right to withdraw individuals and teams from the league with no refund.
Format
- 40 minute games (inc. 3 minute half-time).
- Play using the white lines.
- The time listed on the fixture is the KO - please make sure you are ready to start.
Players & Substitutions
- The league is open to all genders.
- All players need to have filled out the player registration form once for the term – even if you are just filling in for a week.
- Rolling subs - there is no limit to the number of substitutions that can be made by a team, provided all players are registered.
- The referee must be notified when making a substitution.
- If the opposition only has 4 players teams are required to match this, however, anything below 4 you can play on as normal, and the other team will have to forfeit or play with what they have.
Rules
- No slide tackles.
- Only the goalie is allowed in the circle/box (and the goalie can’t leave the area).
- Yellow card is a 2 minutes sinbin, in which time they may not be replaced by another player. The sin-binned player may only re-enter the field of play when the referee indicates they may do so.
- Red card will be sent off (we hope this is never used!!)
- All players must be inside their own half for kick-off with the non-kicking players at least 2m from the ball.
- Players may shoot, and score, directly from the kick-off.
- After a goal has been scored, play will be restarted by the opposing team taking a kick-off from the centre spot
- When taking a penalty the players is allowed one step before striking the ball and the goalkeeper must be standing on the line when a penalty is taken.

- Win = 3 Points
- Draw = 1 Point
- Loss = 0 Point
- Forfeit/Walkover = -1 Point

- It is the players responsibility to bring weather/activity appropriate clothing, equipment and footwear.
- Teams are responsible for their own first aid supplies.

- Red Cards, depending on the offence, you will have a disciplinary meeting with TeamUCL which could result in removal from the league.
Format
- 40 minute games
- KO times with vary, you can ask your captain for the timings - please make sure you are ready to start.
Players & Substitutions
- All players need to have filled out the player registration form once for the term – even if you are just filling in for a week.
- Rolling subs - there is no limit to the number of substitutions that can be made by a team, provided all players are registered.
- The referee must be notified when making a substitution.
- If the opposition only has 7 players teams are required to match this, however, anything below 7 you can play on as normal, and the other team will have to forfeit or play with what they have.
Rules
- No offsides
- Yellow card is a 2 minutes sinbin, in which time they may not be replaced by another player. The sin-binned player may only re-enter the field of play when the referee indicates they may do so.
- Red card will be sent off (we hope this is never used!!)
- Kick offs:
- All players must be in their own half of the field
- The opponents of the team taking the kick-off are at least 1m from the ball until it is played.
- The ball is stationary on the centre mark
- The ball is in play when it is kicked forward
- The kicker may not touch the ball a second time until it has touched another player.
- The ball is still in play when it rebounds from a goal post, crossbar, roof, kickboards or referee.
- The ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the goal line leaves the confines of the pitch.
- A penalty must be taken using the “one step” rule

- All KO will be at 2pm - please make sure you are ready to start.

- The referee must be notified when making a substitution.
- If the opposition only has 9 players teams are required to match this, however, anything below 9 you can play on as normal, and the other team will have to forfeit or play with what they have.
Rules
- Team that wins the coin toss decides which goal to attack in the first half or to take the kick-off
- The team that decided which goal to attack in the first half takes the kick-off to start the second half
- For the second half, the teams change ends and attack the opposite goals
- After a team scores a goal, the kick-off is taken by their opponents
