How to Lead a 'Thriving' Team: leadership, culture and belonging

Have you ever wondered what the ingredients really are in a successful team?

Have you considered the role that a leader can play in creating a team that thrives?

How does sport contribute to belonging, what is this 'feeling', and can this be a force to tackle mental health issues?

This session will be led by Henry Warne (MA Leadership in Sport), and discuss how you can lead a team that 'thrives'.

This workshop is recommended for Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Social Secretaries and Captains, but all delegates are encouraged to attend if the content is of interest.

Your club culture: an introduction to consent and tackling sexual violence

This workshop will equip and empower you with essential skills and knowledge around navigating consent, and tackling sexual misconduct and rape culture within your club. This is a trauma-informed workshop and it will get you to engage critically with:

How you can embed the practice of consent within your club
Power and privilege
Understanding what constitutes sexual violence and rape culture
What your club can do to tackle behaviours and support your members

This workshop introduces your responsibilities as committee members and explores how you can create a positive and impactful experience for all club members.

This workshop is recommended for Welfare Officers, Social Secretaries and Captains in particular, but all delegates are encouraged to attend if the content is of interest.

How to sell your committee experience to employers and recruiters

This workshop will provide an overview of how UCL Careers can help you during your degree, but also after you graduate.

We recognise the fantastic skills that you gain as a student leader, and we are here to help you understand your transferable skills and how you can market these to potential employers.

Make your voice heard! How to lobby for change at TeamUCL

Led by your elected officers for this year, Ana (Activities and Engagement Officer) and Jack Sibeon (Sports Officer), this workshop will encourage you to contribute to some of the most important issues for TeamUCL this year and beyond.

A blended workshop that will integrate a mixture of interactive work and presentations from the Officers on their priorities, come along to discuss the changes that you want to see for our student sporting community at UCL.

Harnessing the power of nutrition in sport: how to use food to supercharge performance, optimise health and achieve body confidence.

Discover everything from how to determine the best diet for your body and performance goals, to how food can help you improve sleep, cope better with stress, feel great and love your body.

You'll walk away with a firm understanding of the fundamentals of personalising nutrition for your sport and health, how to establish healthy eating patterns even on a tight budget, and the key nutritional steps to feeling your best, whilst maintaining a positive relationship with food and your body.

This workshop will be delivered by Sophie Tulley, a Master's degree qualified Biomedical and Clinical Nutrition Scientist and Coach.

Project Active Activators - How you can make a difference for beginners

Project Active is a programme designed to engage inactive students in sport and physical activity, with a focus on complete beginners and reaching under-represented student groups.

After this workshop, you will be a trained Project Activator, ready to deliver beginner friendly sessions for your Club!

This workshop will be delivered by Lilley Kennedy, Physical Activity Manager at Students' Union UCL.
