Refereeing and Officiating
We are currently recruiting officials for volleyball, netball and football leagues. We will also be looking for match officials for other sports, including basketball, badminton, tennis and cricket events later in the year.
- Earn up to £20 per hour if you have a refereeing/officiating qualification
- Earn up to £10 per hour if you have a first aid qualification and are working towards an officiating qualification.
We are able to heavily subsidise officating qualification costs if you are currently, or will be, working/volunteering on TeamUCL Leagues as a match official. Our match officials are required to have a first aid qualification and we can enroll you onto a course if you haven't already.

TeamUCL Leagues Activator
- Purpose of the role
TeamUCL Leagues provides the UCL community with a diverse range of opportunities to participate in social sports and physical activity. As the programme grows, we are looking for students to take a hands-on approach to delivering our leagues and events. The post holder will work closely with the TeamUCL Leagues Assistant and participating students across the programme to develop and grow our inclusive sporting provisions.
The post reports to the TeamUCL Leagues Assistant and will work alongside other TeamUCL League Activators. You are responsible for ensuring that our leagues and events run smoothly while creating a fun and inspiring atmosphere for the students, helping us achieve our goal of being the best university for Sport in London.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a friendly face that represents TeamUCL at TeamUCL Social Leagues/Events, so that the students have a point of call on the day if they have any questions.
- When at the TeamUCL Social Leagues/Events, you will need to collect the results from all fixtures and send them to the TeamUCL Leagues Assistant on the day.
- Support venue staff and match officials to administer basic first aid if required.
- Report near misses, hazards, or injuries during the TeamUCL Social Leagues/Events.
- Collect and return equipment from the TeamUCL office on main campus.
- To be able to step in and referee/umpire fixtures if needed (this will generally only be when a referee or umpire is not available at short notice.)
- Film social media content for the TeamUCL Social Leagues Instagram account.
