Disability Representation in Soap Operas

Join the UCL Soap Opera as we celebrate Disability History Month! I will be talking about how disability has been portrayed in various soap operas throughout the decades and show various clips from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Neighbours, Hollyoaks, The Young and the Restless and more, and we will discuss our opinions about the representation.

UCL Disabled Students' Officers Alumni Panel!

To celebrate Disability History Month, there will be a panel hosted by Danilo with four former Disabled Students' Officers of UCL! They will be discussing their experiences of being DSOs, how the experiences shaped their futures, their hopes for disability advocation and much more! There will also be an opportunity to ask questions :)

As part of UCL’s Disability History Month programme, join us for an immersive sensory workshop led by award-winning blind artist and disability advocate Ruqaiya. Through touch, scent, and guided sensory activities, you’ll explore everyday experiences in new and unexpected ways, with optional blindfolds for those who want to deepen the immersion.
