We support UCL students to develop and run community outreach projects. We support individual students, clubs, societies and student groups unaffiliated with the Students' Union to develop their projects.

We provide project management training, support from an advisor and some groups can apply for up to £300 to help with running costs.

Requirements that your project idea must meet: -

In order to register with the Student-Led Volunteering Programme, you must fulfil the following requirements: -

  • You must be a current UCL students.
  • Your project must benefit the community external to UCL.
  • Your outreach project must work in partnership with a community organisation or school. Please note that we only support projects that work with not-for-profit organisations and we will not support projects that work in partnership with independent schools.
  • There has to be a community need for your project. You may have identified this need from your own experience but if not, we advise you to speak to representatives from the local community. Get in touch if you would like some support with this.
  • Your project activities must take place within London.
  • Your project should aim to recruit a minimum of 10 volunteers and all of your volunteers must be UCL students.
  • If you are not running your project as part of a club or society, your project idea must be unique to the outreach projects that we are already supporting.
