What is Social Enterprise?

Social enterprises use business ideas to solve social and environmental problems. They reinvest profits into their purpose — not shareholders. Some examples of social enterprises in the UK include:

Coffee shops running barista training and roastery programmes to reduce reoffending rates (e.g. Redemption Roasters)
Tackling fast fashion waste (e.g. Give Your Best )
Community cookery school fighting food poverty across the UK (e.g. Bounce Back Foods)
Transforming underused school facilities into thriving community hubs (Schoolspace)
