Training Opportunities

This academic year, we are offering four different two hour bespoke workshops to enhance the skills you will gain as part of your role:

  • Inclusive Leadership
  • Build a Community
  • Effective Representation
  • Influencing for change

By attending these workshops you will receive the following types of accreditation:

  • You will receive a certificate for each workshop attended and completed.
  • For those who complete the whole programme, you will receive a ‘Certification in Student Leadership’ and added to our Awards Role of Honour.

Inclusive Leadership Workshop for Student Leaders

This training is intended for current student leaders. Develop your leadership competencies to foster diverse, equitable, and collaborative environments that empower all voices within the community that you represent.This training aims to equip student leaders with knowledge about UCL’s community in order to advocate on their behalf.

This training is intended for current student leaders. Understand how you can be an effective and representative ambassador. Learn to how identify priorities, frame persuasive arguments, and influencing decision-makers across any leadership context. You will receive accreditation for attending workshops related to the following training sessions:

What could a more sustainable future look like? How might we get there? This short course will guide you to consider this and a range of other important questions. In particular, it will give you a chance to consider the knowledge, skills and values that you might need to help support more sustainable futures for all both during your time at UCL and in the future.

Complete the Sustainable Futures module

The Active Bystander Programme aims to train UCL students to recognise and challenge problematic behaviours, such as bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct, both on- and off-campus. The programme is part of our journey towards social and cultural change and complements other initiatives across the Students' Union and UCL.

It is mandatory for all student leaders to complete, as a minimum, the online module of our Active Bystander Programme.
