Purpose of the job:

We’re seeking friendly, proactive UCL students to join our team during Welcome Week 2026. You will play an important role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and exciting experience at both UCL East and School of Management.

You will support the delivery of Welcome Week activities across UCL East and School of Management – helping students navigate the university, answering questions, assisting with event setup and delivery, and helping students connect with one another and feel part of the UCL East and School of Management community.

Job description
  • Welcome students to UCL East and School of Management, acting as a friendly first point of contact by answering enquiries, helping students navigate campus, and signposting them to relevant services, spaces, activities, and events.
  • Support the setup, delivery, and pack down of Welcome Week events.
  • Assist with queue management, registration, and attendee check-in where required.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment by approaching students who may be attending alone, starting conversations, helping them connect with other attendees, and encouraging engagement with Welcome Week activities.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to the UCL East and School of Management team during the Welcome period.
  • Support with maintaining event spaces and ensuring areas remain clean, organised, and welcoming throughout activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Students’ Union staff and fellow Welcome Assistants to ensure events run smoothly.
