Purpose of the job:

 

This role forms a key part of our Retail Team, lead by the Retail Manager and the wider Operations team, led by the Director of Operations. As part of the retail team, you will provide a friendly and efficient level of customer care to all students, staff and other visitors to the shop, ensuring customers always receive the best possible experience.

Job description
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment which involves manual handling, heavy lifting and taking in large deliveries daily.
  • To receive and check deliveries as required.
  • To assist with re-stocking shelves either direct from a delivery or from the stockroom.
  • Comfortable handling stock that is ambient temperature, chilled or frozen
  • To assist in preparing the outlet to open/close for trade, following the Union’s procedures.
  • To serve and assist customers whilst offering the highest levels of customer service.
  • To ensure that the outlet is kept clean, tidy, and well stocked in accordance with Union procedures.
  • To maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety, in line with statutory regulations and the Union’s procedures.
  • To maintain order in the stockroom and communicate with Managers when low on stock for re-order. 
  • To assist the Retail Managers with stock take procedures as directed.
  • To undertake other duties within the framework of this post from time to time as needed, as directed by the Retail Managers. 
  • To be flexible with shift patterns based on the needs of the shop.
  • Must be a current student studying into the 2025/2026 year
