Purpose of the job

The Marketing and Sales Assistant is responsible for managing advertising bookings at Students’ Union UCL. The postholder will process and coordinate bookings from external suppliers, delivering campaigns that help to build trust and credibility with students.

 

Please note this is a fixed term position that starts asap and is available until July 2025. You will be required to work 16 hours a week.

Job description


Media sales administration

  • Run the day-to-day operation of our advertising sales, scheduling bookings for clients.
  • Be the point of contact for advertising and media sales in the Union.
  • Administer the delivery of emails, digital screen and website advertising, ensuring campaigns are activated in accordance with the sales agreement.
  • Support with the delivery of on-site campus activations, maintaining communication and acting as point of contact for vendors and suppliers.
  • Continually coordinate with external media vendors, publishers, or platforms to ensure smooth campaign execution and delivery.
  • Work with advertisers to ensure their campaigns comply with Students’ Union policies and brand vetoes, upholding the ethical values and beliefs of the union.
  • Evaluate the performance and results in campaigns and suggest improvements as required.
  • Maintain accurate sales records for all advertising and sponsorship sales and support with the financial administration of sales activity.
  • Ensure the advertising opportunities listed on our website and through media sales agencies are up-to-date and accurate.

Marketing and communications

  • Support with the recruitment, training and onboarding of student staff for the department when needed, ensuring the casual staff admin account is accurate and up to date.
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required.
  • Liaise with Union departments to resolve queries and build productive working relationships.
  • Maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Actively comply and promote UCL’s equal opportunity policy.
