Join Sunshine Action UK to create Fortune Bags that bring food, hygiene essentials, and hope to those in need
During this Big Help Out, UCL students will help assemble “fortune bags” filled with non-perishable food, toiletries, sanitary items and other essentials. These bags will later be distributed to beneficiaries through Sunshine Action UK's local partner.
Sunshine Action UK is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to alleviating poverty among homeless and low-income individuals. One of their core initiatives is the Fortune Bag programme, which provides essential food and hygiene supplies to people experiencing food insecurity.

Big Help Outs are fun one-off volunteering opportunities that bring groups together for meaningful community action. It’s all about small steps creating big change. At our events, you’ll always find friendly student and staff faces to ensure you feel welcome and supported.

Your contribution will directly support individuals facing food insecurity, providing vital relief during a time when millions across the UK are struggling to afford basic essentials.

This event will be in the Student Centre, 27-28 Gordon Sq, London WC1H 0AW.

By signing up, you’ve claimed a limited ticket. This ticket does not confirm your spot, an email will be sent closer to the date confirming whether you have been selected, as places are limited to 20 volunteers

What to Wear
There’s no special dress code, just wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The session is physically demanding, so please eat a good meal beforehand and bring plenty of water.
