Seminar outline

Navigating the Behavioural Science World: from Health to Animal Welfare

In this seminar, Marta Campagnola will discuss her journey from studying the MSc in Behaviour Change at UCL to starting her career in Behavioural Science. She will share what she learned from working on an Applied Project with the UCL Behavioural Innovations Society and how it helped with her job search. We will hear about her experience of joining an organisation that wasn’t the right fit and how she transitioned to her current role of Human Behaviour Change Officer at Dogs Trust, where she applies behavioural science in the animal welfare sector. Marta will provide examples of projects she's worked on and share insights from working in a field where behavioural science is still in its early stages.

Speaker bio

Marta is a Behavioural Scientist with a background across both public and private sectors. Holding an MSc in Behaviour Change from UCL, her studies focused on designing and implementing behaviour change interventions with an emphasis on health and sustainability. During her time at UCL, she took part of the Behavioural Innovations Society, where, with a team, she designed a behaviour change intervention to reduce business air travel.

For a short period of time, Marta then gained research experience as a Research Intern for the PLH SUPER study at Accelerate Hub, collaborating with institutions such as the University of Oxford, WHO, and UNICEF.

Moving into the private sector, she then started her career at MindGym, a professional coaching company focused on using behavioural science to create company-wide behaviour change by focusing on areas such as leadership development, performance management, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing.
Currently, as a Human Behaviour Change Officer at Dogs Trust, Marta is responsible for developing and implementing human behaviour change interventions, conducting research, and delivering workshops to support the ultimate charity aim of improving animal welfare.
