Are you passionate about widening participation in medicine and allied health professions? Do you love teaching or want to develop your teaching skills? If so, then this is the project for you!

What do we do?

Our outreach scheme aims to educate Year 10 and Year 12 students on careers in healthcare and provide them with the know-how and inspiration to pursue them. Our volunteers give presentations on various healthcare professions, introduce some basic clinical skills and provide advice on applications and interview skills. These sessions allow us to help those who have the ability and desire, whatever their background, to get into medical school and other allied professions!

Who is it for?

Next Top Doctor is a volunteering outreach scheme open to all UCL Medical Students.

What is the time commitment?

If you choose to volunteer with us, you'll be paired with one or more other medical students and you'll deliver four one-hour group presentations to a class of Year 10 or Year 12 students. These one-hour presentations will be conducted in person at our partnering schools, and will take place on Wednesday afternoons for four consecutive weeks in Term 2.

This project aims to inspire and provide practical knowledge to Year 10 and Year 12 students pertaining to careers in healthcare. This year they worked in partnership with several schools, including Brampton Manor Academy in East Ham.
