Our 15th International Undergraduate & Foundation Surgery Conference (iNUGSC) is completely student-led and is the largest student-led conference in the UK. 

The Widening Participation Scheme acts as a gateway into medicine for students from underprivileged backgrounds. The one-day conference aimed at sixth-form students involves various talks and workshops to engage and inspire students.

Our Widening Participation Conference will be held on Saturday, 7th March 2026. We will be inviting 60 local state school students to attend free of charge, offering them hands-on suturing workshops, VR sessions, and talks from surgeons.

Niamh is the Project Leader for the iNUGS Widening Participation Scheme project, part of UCL’s Surgical Society. This year, the project worked with the London Academy of Excellence, which is based in East London’s Borough of Newham.
