Description

To enhance young people's awareness of and empathy with your faith or non-religious beliefs as they are lived, through school visits as part of an interfaith team. Enable young people to meet adults from diverse backgrounds, after which they will: Better understand their connections with people who seem different to them; Have had their questions answered; Be more secure in their own identities; Have increased confidence in meeting new people from different background

Duties

Our most popular schools workshop, 'Encountering Faiths and Beliefs', helps to raise awareness of what it means to be part of a faith or belief tradition and improves young people's skills of empathy through opportunities for encounter with volunteers from a wide range of different backgrounds. This workshop is offered to students in Years 4 to 13. We are looking for confident and enthusiastic volunteers from different backgrounds to take part in these workshops by sharing their beliefs and experiences in the form of a five minute story. They will also take part in a Q&A dialogue, where students ask their burning questions. The session takes place within a 'safe space', set by a 3FF facilitator, who leads the activities.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
School pupils in Years 4-13 from different backgrounds. We work in single-faith and community schools. Diverse team members from different faiths and belief traditions.
Training
Full training includes interfaith tools and working with young people
