ROLE DESCRIPTION
Main Purpose of our Services
Provide administrative support for Counselling Services that offer counselling for people aged 55 and over who live or are registered with a GP surgery in the London Borough of Camden. We work in partnership with Camden NHS Talking Therapies/iCope (that provides a confidential psychological therapy service for people over the age of 18).
Your Tasks
1. Work with staff members, volunteer counsellors/psychotherapists, consultants (supervisors and assessors), and above all potential and ongoing clients and their referrers.
2. Support them as a volunteer administrator.
3. Behave in a manner appropriate to the role and maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff/other volunteers/consultants’ information.
4. Check the Counselling email account.
1)Keep an eye on urgent communications.
2)Answer the enquiries from the clients usually by phone.
3)Check counsellors’ weekly notes and measures and their requests.
5. Make phone calls to clients to do basic triage and report to the team.
6. Communicate sensitively with the individual client’s needs. Some may have cognitive impairments, such as hearing, speech, and/or memory loss.
7. Upload/update some information to Charity Log.
8. If you can attend our team meetings, currently on Wednesday at 11am, it would be mutually beneficial.
9. Pay due attention to AUC’s Equality and Diversity Policy.
10. Follow our guidelines and policies, such as Health & Safety and Lone Worker Policy.
