Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity that provides support to the patients and staff of Moorfields Eye Hospital. Among the main things we do is offering a diverse range of volunteer services to help patients navigate the hospital and support them on their patient journey.

Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity that provides support to the patients and staff of Moorfields Eye Hospital. Among the main things we do is offering a diverse range of volunteer services to help patients navigate the hospital and support them on their patient journey.

Friends of Moorfields volunteers perform an extremely important job ensuring that all patients who come to Moorfields feel comfortable, reassured and receive the best possible treatment regardless of the outcome of their appointment.  

We will happily provide references for all volunteers and can provide support in finding work opportunities.

Duties

As a Friends of Moorfields shop volunteer you will be on hand to support our shop team and staff to price goods, serve customers and answer queries. We are also looking for volunteers to operate our mobile shop (trolley service) to patients and staff around the hospital.

Training
All volunteers are required to undertake mandatory online training which will include 9 modules. Once cleared with the recruitment process volunteers will be paired with our shop staff/a volunteer to understand how the role works.

Time commitment

All volunteers must be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week for 6 months, ideally from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
