Description

Centre 404 is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism, providing essential support and services to enhance their independence and wellbeing. As we strive to expand our reach and impact, effective fundraising is crucial to sustaining our programs and initiatives. We are excited to invite a motivated group of volunteers to help us optimize our donation appeals and streams of funding. This opportunity will focus on developing, testing and evaluating funding strategies that resonate with our community, enhance donor engagement, and ultimately drive greater support for our mission.

The project’s main components will consist of scoping and researching psychologically informed approaches to fundraising and producing a plan or series of recommendations that will improve the organisations fundraising strategy. Additionally, the group can take on additional responsibilities to test, evaluate, and refine their plan with the support of the charity.

An outline of the project is below:

  • Identify and analyse existing procedures
  • Research and scoping
  • Design a strategy
  • Optional Test and evaluate
  • Optional Refine and conclude

Join us in making a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in the non-profit sector!

Duties
  • Identify and Analyse Existing Procedures: Understand the current donation appeal process and funding streams to map existing efforts and identify areas for streamlining and improvement.
  • Research and Scoping: Conduct research into the psychology of fundraising, what strategies prove most effective for charities like Centre 404. Conduct a scoping and mapping exercise to see what successful charities are doing to integrate different funding streams into their work.
  • Design a Strategy: Develop a donation appeal and funding strategy that integrates data of impact (social proof), personal experiences and testimonies (emotional storytelling), and/or audience tailored (framing).
  • Optional Test and Evaluate: Support Centre 404 to implement this plan through a few pilot projects. Use a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods (focus groups, interviews, and surveys) to assess donor responses before and after implementing the strategy.
  • Optional Refine and Conclude: Analyse findings and refine the strategy based on feedback, producing actionable recommendations for future campaigns.
