Club Kali, a historic safe space for the South Asian LGBTQ+ community, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of outputs including events, oral history interviews, a podcast series, archive creation and an exhibition at Islington Museum. These events honour the club’s role in fostering inclusion, resilience, and community over the decades.
We are seeking 3-4 students to analyse a series of South Asian LGBTQ+ oral histories. This is an exciting opportunity to work with brand new oral histories, find parallels and draw out overarching themes. For those interested, the role may extend beyond the analysis phase, providing the chance to produce outputs for multi-media channels such as podcasts and exhibitions.
- Conduct quantitative analysis with oral histories collected by the Club Kali team.
- Find parallels, draw out overarching themes and present a cohesive narrative.
- Liaise with the Podcasts and Exhibitions teams to suggest materials for use.
- Opportunity to contribute to producing outputs with the Podcasts and Exhibition teams.
