Club Kali, a historic safe space for the South Asian LGBTQ+ community, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of outputs including events, oral history interviews, a podcast series, archive creation and an exhibition at Islington Museum. These events honour the club’s role in fostering inclusion, resilience, and community over the decades.
We are seeking 3-4 students to help design the evaluation framework for the programme, offering a valuable opportunity to apply evaluation and impact measurement skills to a meaningful real-world initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to help measure the impact of the anniversary activities, gather valuable feedback from participants, and ensure the project meets the needs of its audience while providing compelling evidence for funders. For those interested, the role may extend beyond the design phase, providing the chance to further develop and implement the evaluation as the project progresses.
- Design a system for tracking and measuring progress against programme indicators, including visits, engagement, and satisfaction
- Quantitative Research: Design surveys to track key performance indicators (e.g., inclusion, resilience, etc.) to measure programme impact
- Qualitative Research: Design interview and focus groups guides, to gather insights on service users’ experiences and the programme's impact
- Evaluation Framework: Collaborate on creating a comprehensive evaluation framework that integrates both quantitative and qualitative methods, ensuring alignment with programme goals and key outcomes
Time commitment
Flexible time commitment (as long as the project is completed) ; online; and regular what’s app check in’s with the project manager
Would be nice to have a monthly meeting with the clients and volunteer to report the progress of the project.
There will be great opportunities to continue volunteering with the project and apply the evaluation strategy ‘in the field’ for example , conducting vox pop interviews with audiences at events/ the exhibition (until October 2025).
