You'll be playing a vital part in connecting with our guests who may be feeling lonely, ensuring they still feel connected. A check-in and chat call can make all the difference to someone who is lonely and is also a great chance to socialise and check how they are doing. It's also a chance for the volunteers to provide them with information on local organisations which can offer them further support if needed.
Volunteers will be allocated four people each week they need to call. We expect calls to last 15-20 minutes each. Each volunteer will then log the call on our database. All volunteers will need to keep all guest data secure and confidential. Please note: volunteers who live internationally will need to have roaming included in their phone plans as they will be calling UK numbers. Most UK providers do include free calls to the UK but do check this.
Time commitment
This support you will be giving is a one-off phone call that can be flexible to suit the time you have available to give. Calls should be made at times that are sociable hours: between 10am-8pm.
