Hours                          Casual, approx. 3 hours per 2 weeks

 

Purpose of the job

We’re seeking creative and self-motivated students to assist in social media, website, and email content creation. From writing articles for the website to producing Instagram reels, you will help to communicate key messages to students and keep the Union’s social media channels engaging and on trend.

Job description

 

  • Support the communications team to create content for social media, website, and email that helps the Union deliver its priorities. 
  • Develop and pitch new ideas for social media content, in line with the Students’ Union’s brand and tone of voice.
  • Stay up to date and provide insight to the team on current trends and upcoming events.
  • Write social media and newsletter copy, paying particular attention to Students’ Union UCL’s tone of voice.
  • Write and edit long-form articles for the Students’ Union website.
  • Record, film, and edit video content to be used across social channels.
  • Where appropriate, use professional equipment to capture video and image-based content.
  • Where appropriate, edit video and image-based content on professional editing software.
  • Assist with any other tasks as required, for example, setting up filming shoots.
