A relatively unusual requirement to work with printed books, which we receive from around the world: primarily from UK, US, Netherlands, Germany & Japan. This Spring there's a Saturday requirement to sort & shelve received inventory, being much more efficiently completed without weekday distractions. The inbound stock (thousands of books at a time) needs sorting into alphabetical order and shelved, along with identifying any discrepancies. This is done (with an amount of speed) in batches of around 200-400 units each. The workplace ambience is similar to that of a library, working with about 5 people doing the same task.
We are an established internet retailer focused on books and entertainment products, dispatching tens of thousands of orders monthly, with a warehouse near Heathrow airport since 2011. Our office is a 20 minute walk from Hounslow West underground station (please check journey planner before applying). Small business working alongside the managing director. UCL Jobshop has been used at intervals over the last decade.
The job is paid hourly, Saturdays only 9.30am - 5.30pm.
