Candidates

Deepthi Leela Arun Prasad

Hey, my name is Deepthi and I’m standing for the role of Head of Freshers. Through this role, I want to ensure that every fresher feels welcomed, valued, and heard from the very beginning, and confident that Tamil Society will become a true highlight of their university experience. I understand how important the first few weeks are in shaping someone’s time at university which is why I’m committed to creating engaging, memorable events that bring people together and encourage genuine connections. I want Tamil Society to feel like a home away from home — and I’m ready to put in the effort to make that happen.

Lakshmi Sindhu Janipireddy

I'm standing for Head of Freshers because I genuinely care about the experience new members have when they join Tamil society. As the current first year rep, I've helped out at setting events such as pongal, panithuli and take me out, so I've seen the effort, energy and teamwork that goes into making these events successful. When I joined as a fresher, I loved events such as the meet and greet and jalsa which motivated me to apply to become fyr. If elected, I want to strengthen the social opportunities outside the main events and encourage more regular meet-ups at the beginning of the year within tsoc families or general socials so freshers don't just attend events- they actually feel ingrained within the society and part of a larger family. I want to create a welcoming atmosphere at the start of the year for freshers, introducing more events within fresher groups to make them feel included, comfortable and excited.
