With a year of experience as event coordinator, ready to come back for my final year and organise lots of events.

Yujia Li

I am standing for Event Coordinator at the club because I am passionate about cue sports and want to help create a welcoming, active, and fun community for snooker and pool players at UCL.

Pool has been one of my favourite hobbies for the past 5 years. I enjoy the friendly and social vibe the game brings. In my final two years of high school, I founded and led the first Snooker and Pool Society of the school. I grew it from scratch to a regular group of up to 27 participants. The biggest achievement to me was organising our end-of-year championship in which I planned the complete match schedule for 16 competitors, refereed the entire tournament with my colleagues, I bought medals and prizes on a tight budget, and negotiated with the venue owner to book enough tables for the tournament. The event ran smoothly and helped establish the society as one of the most popular activities in our school.

I would love to bring this same initiative and experience to UCL. As Event Coordinator, I would aim to: Run regular social evenings and beginner sessions. Organise internal ladders, knockout tournaments and themed nights. Arrange inter-society friendlies or joint social events and plan annual UCL Snooker & Pool Championship.

I am organised, reliable, comfortable negotiating with venues, and — above all — enthusiastic about giving people great opportunities to play, improve and social through cue sports.

I would be excited to help make our society a vibrant and inclusive part of UCL life.
