Hi! I’m Jane, a first-year Biological Sciences student. I am running for Welfare Officer.

Since last semester, I had joined many events of photography society. I really enjoyed the vibes of the photowalks, which motivates me to contribute to this society with my effort. I’d love to help make the society feel more welcoming and fun to be part of.

Through my past experiences, I’ve done society/event work. I was involved in a photo club and student union events in high school,  so I’m pretty comfortable with organising, communicating, and making things actually happen. Also, I’m currently an Event Co-Lead for Friends of GEE at UCL, so I’m  familiar with how university societies plan and run events, including the small practical details behind the scenes.

If I have the honor to be elected, I’d love to do the following:

    1. I’ll regularly share short surveys to ask what kinds of events everyone want. This way, we can respond to members’ needs more effectively, and I can make sure every voice is heard. For example, I’ve already heard my friends say they’d love more joint shoots with the Model Society, so I’d look into making it happen.

    2.  I’d love to help with some little society merch (like keychains or mini prints featuring iconic member shots) for fairs and socials, which can introduce our society on club fair.

Also, I'll learn how to help secure more paid photography opportunities for our members, and work to bring more benefits to the society.

Thanks!
