Cecelia Maduekwe

I'd like to say I'm a great photographer, but I only have so many words here and a picture can say many more. I've organised photoshoots (working with agencies such as Storm and Genesis), and shot for brands like Ewusie and Saranya during London Fashion Week. I've seen the entire editorial process through in my experience as editorial executive for MODO Magazine, so I know what it takes to run it. I also have a job in publishing; my professional and practical experience lend me the skills to lead the magazine further.

As Editor in Chief, I'd like to carry on the brilliant work Nyla has done to revamp the magazine, as well as introduce some new initiatives. Aside from MODO Magazine's print editions, I'd like to boost our social media presence with posts featuring MODO designers, on-campus fashion, collection reviews, etc. I'd like to widen participation in the magazine through clear prompts for written and visual pieces, which should reduce the first (and toughest) barrier to concept development. Next year I want to hone the distinct style and branding of MODO Magazine.

Although I'm more active with photography, writing is my first love. I want to increase the quantity and quality of fashion writing for the magazine, online and in print. I want to hear your fashion reviews, collection analyses, meditations on personal style –– what you think about fashion in general. Above all, I want to collaborate with our brilliant team to bring you an even better magazine next year.
