Malayali Society: Treasurer

I am standing for the position of Treasurer of the Malayali Society because I want to play an active role in supporting and strengthening our community. The Malayali Society is an important space where students can celebrate our culture, connect with others who share a similar background and build friendships while studying away from home. I would love the opportunity to contribute to the society’s continued growth and help create enjoyable events and experiences for its members.

As an Economics student, I have developed an interest in financial management, budgeting and using resources effectively. I believe this background would help me approach the role with responsibility and attention to detail. The Treasurer plays an important role in ensuring the society’s finances are organised, transparent and used in a way that benefits all members. If elected, I would work closely with the committee to plan budgets carefully, keep clear financial records and support the organisation of cultural and social events. I would also be open to exploring fundraising opportunities to help the society run even more activities.

Most importantly, I want to give back to a society that brings people together and celebrates Malayali culture, helping it remain a welcoming and vibrant community for everyone. 

I will make sure that every event is live and I’ll host every afters at my house next year.
