Magic Society: Events Officer

Hi everyone! I'm Zirui Zhou, currently a second-year Biochemistry student. I’m nominating myself for the position of Events Officer of the Magic Society.

I joined the society at the beginning of Year 1 and have loved the friendly and supportive atmosphere ever since. Over the past year, I have regularly participated in Magic Society sessions and activities, and I also volunteered in the Out of Sight show. Through these experiences, along with my leadership roles as a Transition Mentor and Student Representative in my course, I’ve gained a good understanding of how the society functions and developed transferable skills in making it more welcoming to freshers and improving events based on members’ ideas.

I want to hear from members about the events you’d like to see. Whether it’s guest lectures, shows, inter-society events, pub socials, picnics, or magic trips, my goal is to organise events that are fun, engaging, and member-oriented. I hope to help make the society a place where you can learn magic, perform magic, and also relax from intense studies while having fun.
