Joe Thomas

This past year I have been Vice President of the Labour society. Within that role I have organised canvassing, speaker and social events, collaborating with various other Labour societies across London. I am particularly proud of our consistency with social events and hope to keep this up next year as President!

My Plan:

  1. Fortnightly social events – ranging form Pints and Policy to pub-crawls
  2. Produce a clear timetable of events for every term to ensure members have time to plan ahead
  3. Continue supporting local Labour representatives, ensuring members meet with MPs and Councillors in canvass sessions
  4. Introduce informal networking, bringing people from Think Tanks, Charities, internal party structures and Westminster to socials
  5. Collaborate with other political societies more frequently, providing a plurality of views to political debate

My aim is to build a Labour Society that brings together people from within and outside of the party while avoiding the unfortunate bitterness of student politics.

If you like these ideas, vote Joe!
