Indian Dance Society: Just Bollywood Captain

I can confidently say that I know the hook steps of a lot of Bollywood songs, so I guess it's safe to say Bollywood dance is a major part of my life. Dance brings me a sense of freedom and peace nothing else can, I love how it's so diverse and full of expression. The first time I ever choreographed was in year 5 for a small group of children, and it's one of my favourite memories of school because there's a different happiness that is brought by teaching dance. My admiration for choreographing grew from then, I have choreographed for weddings, events at my sister's university and Naach, and I loved every minute of it. As soon as I began choreographing for Naach I forgot I also came to UCL for education... I will grasp any opportunity to choreograph a dance and Just Bollywood is an amazing opportunity. Choreographing such a major event like JB takes a lot of dedication, patience and leadership, which I can bring to the team. I am willing to dedicate the time needed and make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. I lead with encouragement, positivity and high standards to make sure everyone is confident and proud on stage. I want to help create a performance that tells a story through the many different forms of Bollywood dance, excites the audience and leaves a lasting impact. More importantly I would love to represent UCL.

Hi! I'm Anoushka. Applying to choreograph alongside Aniketh, I would love to be one of your captains for JustBollywood 2026. I have loved dance since the day I can remember, and one of my favourite things to do is share this passion with as many people as possible. Throughout school I choreographed and taught weekly classes as well as creating routines for events and festivals. I enjoy performing all different dance styles, and having competed in JB last year not only did I perfect a multitude of dance skills but I also made some of my best friends. I believe I would be a strong captain, and work alongside my co-captain and my team to produce a winning performance. 

Hi! I’m Aniketh, and I'm applying to be one of your captains for the Just Bollywood 2026 competition alongside Anoushka.

Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have danced to Bollywood and Tollywood songs at various events and occasions from a very young age, and have continued this passion as I grew up. This experience has given me confidence to dance in front of crowds, a strong sense of rhythm, and the ability to develop choreography quickly.

Competing in JB this year has taught me many valuable lessons in dancing as part of a team, and I loved every rehearsal. I want to share this passion with others and lead a team that is motivated and driven to win. I believe I would be a valuable captain who brings energy and creativity to produce a united team.
