Aya Bou Sraih

Hi, I’m Aya, and I’m running for Welfare Officer for the UCL Guild Society. Through my experience across multiple societies and community-focused roles, I’ve learned how important it is to actively maintain inclusive, supportive environments where members feel comfortable participating and raising concerns.

Events Committee, UCL Arab Society – Helped coordinate society events including the annual ArabSoc Iftar, ensuring the event was accessible, welcoming, and culturally respectful for a large group of students during Ramadan.

Technology & Marketing, UCL Law Society – Managed communications and digital platforms for a society of 800+ members, improving accessibility of event information and resources for students.

Head of Recreation & Development, UCL Tennis Society (BUCS Varsity Athlete) – Organized recreational sessions for over 200 members, balancing accessibility for beginners while supporting competitive players in a high-pressure team environment

Education Policy Intern, Step-By-Step School for Children with Special Needs – Supported students with developmental and learning challenges and engaged with policymakers on inclusive education strategies.

As Welfare Officer, I will ensure members have a clear point of contact for welfare concerns, promote respectful and inclusive society spaces, and help integrate wellbeing considerations into Guild events and activities.
