Election post
Hi, I’m Christina, a first-year Geography and Economics student at UCL. I enjoy exploring new experiences, from horse riding and boxing to learning guitar, and value community and teamwork. In high school. I was President of the Economics Society, the largest academic society in my school, where I organised weekly sessions and actively reached out to local businesses and sponsors to secure support. This taught me how clear communication and persistence can turn ideas into real funding that helps a society grow.
I’m running for Sponsorship VP of the Guild Society because I love the Guild’s mission of bringing students together through culture, creativity, and community. Strong sponsorship is key to running impactful initiatives, and I want to help raise funds that translate into meaningful events and opportunities for members. I’m also keen to build mutually beneficial relationships between societies and external partners.
If selected, I would build a proactive sponsorship strategy by researching and reaching out to aligned partners, local businesses, creative organisations, creating clear proposals that communicate sponsor value, maintaining long-term relationships, and working closely with the committee to turn funding into inclusive, high-impact events. Drawing on my fundraising experience, I balance professionalism with warmth and I’m confident I can strengthen the Guild’s sponsorship base to support diverse, exciting activities for members.
