Arthur Chen

I have been part of UCL Gliding Club since my first year, and over the past three years the club has become one of the most important parts of my time at UCL. During this time I have been actively involved in running the society. I previously served as Student Liaison Officer, managing the club inbox and helping members with enquiries, and this year I am the Senior Captain, organising weekly flying activities, coordinating visits to the airfield and working with staff to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Through these roles I have become very familiar with how the club operates, from weekly sign-ups and events to aircraft operations, maintenance and administrative requirements. As Treasurer, I would aim to keep the club’s finances organised and transparent, while supporting both flying opportunities and social activities for members. I care a lot about the future of the Gliding Club and would like to continue helping it run smoothly and grow.

Yujia Ding

I genuinely enjoy working with budgets and financial planning, not just balancing numbers, but ensuring that funds are used efficiently to support members and create opportunities for the club to grow. I am organised, responsible, and approachable, and I take financial accountability seriously. Previously, I served as Student Union President in high school, where I managed budgets for large-scale events such as graduation ceremonies and seasonal celebrations. This role required careful cost control, supplier negotiation, and transparent reporting, particularly when working within limited funding. Through this experience, I learned that effective financial management is not about restricting ideas, but about enabling them sustainably.

If elected as Treasurer, my priorities would extend beyond simply recording expenses. I would focus on maintaining clear and transparent financial records, ensuring long-term sustainability, and actively exploring potential funding or sponsorship opportunities to support the club’s development. I would be honoured to support the club behind the scenes, so that everyone else can focus on what truly matters: flying.
