I'm interested in expanding the fundraising methods we have right now & making sure we have enough funds to succeed in the WASH/Bridge projects

Charlotte Ma

Hi everyone, I’m Charlotte, and I’m running to be your next Financial Manager at Engineers in Action UCL.

As an active member this year, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of the Bridge and WASH teams on rural communities. I also understand how important sustainable funding is if we want these projects to grow and continue supporting communities long term.

In high school, I led a social impact initiative supporting menstrual health for over 800 students. I collaborated with NGOs to install and maintain dispensers across 25 bathrooms, ran a nonprofit pop-up shop, and organised fundraising events, including a period pain simulation challenge which raised over 9.7k. A key part of that work involved applying for grants and building partnerships to secure sustainable funding.

If elected, I want to bring that same approach here: actively applying for grants, strengthening partnerships with NGOs and sponsors, and exploring new fundraising initiatives that align with our mission. I’d also support events that both engage our community and contribute to our projects, from creative fundraisers and speaker events to collaborations with other societies interested in international development and social impact.

I’m organised, proactive, and committed to ensuring our society has the financial resources to keep delivering meaningful projects around the world. I’d really appreciate your vote.
